Volkswagen T25 / T3 Danbury Luxury Lounger Camper Model History
Circa 1986 Dawson Danbury introduced the T25 / T3 Volkswagen Danbury Luxury Lounger. It was available in eitheir tintop or high top form initially. On later models it was also possible to specify a side elevating pop top roof option. The unusual layout consisted of an “L” shaped settee which converts to a large double bed. Incorporated into a cupboard behind the passenger seat there was a fold out 2 burner stove and grill. A fridge is located below the sink and drainer in a cupboard located to the front of the rear seat. Note that during the production period of this model various changes were made to the specification including changes to upholstery materials, electrical control panels, furniture design etc. Where possible I will try and show examples of any updates and the approximate date of any change in the descriptions below. 3) Volkswagen T25 Danbury Luxury Lounger Colour Options As far as I know in 1985 the VW Danbury Luxury Lounger was available in 1 colour. Other colours may have been available so if you see a Danbury Luxury Lounger in another colour please send me a photo ;-) R1R1 Pastel White (L90D) (Pastellweis)
4) Volkswagen T25 / T3 Danbury Luxury Lounger Camper Furniture Specification The Volkswagen T25 / T3 Danbury Luxury Lounger layout consisted of: 1) Drivers seat. 2) Passenger seat. 3) Rear “L” shaped settee which converts to a large double bed.
4) Dinette can be formed using the removable table that could be positioned in front of the rear settee using centre leg.
5) Slim unit directly behind passenger seat contains fold out stainless steel Lytham Adventurer two burner stove with grill. Stove is situated near sliding door so cooking can be managed from inside or outside the van. Behind the drivers seat there is a unit containing a cocktail cabinet.
6) Sink and drainer with Electrolux RM 122 underneath located in unit to the front of rear seat . Tap is switched on and off via a retractable foot pump.
Other features include: Full headlining throughout and around windows. Carpet trim on side panels, floor and engine deck. Sliding window. Three two gallon water containers (six gallons of water storage in total). All the windows are fully curtained with Velvet curtains.

Danbury fibreglass elevating roof runs full length of the vehicle. Gas filled struts assist with raising roof, hold the roof in place and take weight when lowering. Access hatch. Fully upholstered bed in roof (1829 mm x ?? mm).

Roof believed to have been supplied by RGA CONVERSIONS OF NORWICH (later called Huntsman Conversions) The roof would have been manufactured by SUPERVISTA MOULDINGS who were an RGA associated company. Window in front and both sides. Two roof vents with flyscreens. Front roof rack
